Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the Recostar app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Recorn Limited, the developer of Recostar. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. Your continued use of Recostar after any modifications to these terms constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
Description of Service
Recostar is a call recording application for iPhone that allows users to record, store, and manage phone conversations. Our service includes cloud storage on Amazon AWS infrastructure, optional transcription services, and enterprise features for business users. We provide both free and premium subscription tiers with varying storage limits and feature availability. The service is designed for legal call recording where permitted by applicable laws.
User Responsibilities and Legal Compliance
You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Recostar complies with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding call recording. This includes obtaining proper consent from all parties to recorded conversations where required by law. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and not to record conversations for illegal activities, harassment, or violation of others’ privacy rights. You must be at least 18 years old or have parental consent to use this service.
Account Registration and Security
To use Recostar’s premium features, you must create an account with accurate information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used for fraudulent activities.
Subscription Terms and Billing
Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually through the Apple App Store. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law or App Store policies. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings. We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice to existing subscribers.
Data Storage and Retention
Your call recordings are stored on secure Amazon AWS servers for the duration of your active subscription plus 30 days. We reserve the right to delete data from inactive accounts after 90 days of non-use. You are responsible for backing up important recordings. While we implement robust security measures, you acknowledge that no system is completely secure, and you use the service at your own risk regarding data security.
Intellectual Property Rights
Recostar app, including its design, features, and functionality, is owned by Recorn Limited and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of your recorded content but grant us a limited license to store and process your recordings to provide the service. You may not reverse engineer, modify, or distribute our app without written permission.
Service Availability and Limitations
While we strive for 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee continuous availability of the service. We may perform maintenance, updates, or experience technical issues that temporarily limit service access. We are not liable for service interruptions or their impact on your ability to record calls. The service is provided ‘as is’ without warranties of any kind.
Prohibited Uses and Content
You agree not to use Recostar to record conversations without proper legal authorization, store illegal content, attempt to hack or compromise our systems, share account credentials, resell or redistribute the service, or use the service to harass, threaten, or violate others’ rights. Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination.
Limitation of Liability and Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recorn Limited shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of Recostar. Our total liability for any claims shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We disclaim all warranties except as expressly stated herein.
Termination and Data Deletion
You may terminate your account at any time through the app settings. We may terminate accounts for violation of these terms, illegal use, or non-payment of subscription fees. Upon termination, your access to the service will cease, and your data will be deleted according to our data retention policy. You have 30 days to download your recordings before permanent deletion.
Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, where Recorn Limited is headquartered. Any disputes arising from these terms or the service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Riga, Latvia, except for intellectual property disputes which may be brought in appropriate courts. You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits against us.
Updates to Terms of Service
We may update these Terms of Service periodically to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or service features. Significant changes will be communicated through the app and by email 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
